Acoustic Solutions for Churches

Designed with high ceilings, a large open space and plenty of wooden furniture, churches often lack the ability to form a good acoustic environment. This can lead to speech intelligibility problems and excessive reverberation. By installing acoustic wall panels or clouds within the church, you can improve church acoustics, reduce echo and create a more pleasant experience, especially for those who are hard of hearing.

Church Acoustics

Church acoustics are not often considered but they are essential for creating a good, audible environment for everyone. Whilst a small amount of reverberation is effective in a church for the ambience of the choir, too much could stop congregants from being able to hear services clearly.

By introducing acoustic wall panels, acoustic clouds, or other acoustic solutions, you can create a layer of sound absorption within the space that will help to reduce the amount of reverberation generated. This will create a better quality of sound and improve speech intelligibly throughout the church.

Reducing excessive reverberation will also help to lessen the often-exaggerated small sounds within a church. People shuffling their feet, blowing their nose or benches creaking are all emphasised by the echoey nature of the room. By scaling down that echo, these small noises will become just that – small noises.
